Ulrich the Uintatherium

'Ulrich' was my first attempt at sculpting a prehistoric mammal. As said in the intro, the Zallinger painting and the Starlux figure were used as references, and he ended up cartoony rather than realistic (which turned out okay).

As with all the Tertiaries, Ulrich is made of white Sculpey, and painted with acrylic paints. I just use paints such as Ceramcoat, Apple Barrel, and Anita's. These are found at just about any hobby store, such as Michael's or Hobby Lobby.

I have made several of these guys as of this writing, and Ulrich remains my favorite. Of course, the Uintatherium has always been my favorite prehistoric mammal. The 'cartoonified'  look really works with this guy, I think.
